I am a female in her early twenties looking to further her studies into Pagan based spirituality. I have been a practicing Pagan since late 2004 but didn't adopt the term Pagan until almost a year later. I had originally found myself interested in Wicca. I studied, I learned, I worshiped, and I claimed to all that is good that I was a Wiccan. I lost friends, hurt family and placed myself in an even more confusing situation than I had ever anticipated.
However, I met a man in 2005, who helped shape what I know today when it comes to my own Pagan spirituality. He taught me what it was to be Pagan, and what it was to be Wiccan - and the differences between the two. He taught me to push myself to learn more all the time. We don't talk much anymore, this man and I. But he has forever been an important part of my life and it's safe to say he has changed the course of my life tremendously.
I follow many different aspects of Pagan spirituality. Of those I strongly connect to Celtic Reconstructionism, Animism, Heathenism, New Age, Kitchen and Green Witch, and Satanism. I'm quite the eclectic you might say - but (and I say this with no offense meant), who in the Pagan community is not?
I currently am with an amazing Man with whom I completely adore. He means the world to me and I'm happy to have him in my life. He is not Pagan, but that doesn't factor negatively on our relationship.
I live in Northern California, and I work in retail as a member of our four person management team. I went to a community college in my area for Graphic Design, Illustration and Multimedia. I have AA's in all three. However, after I graduated I simply stayed where I was - vowing of course I would never make this my career. Look at me now... moving up the corporate ladder, and making a career out of the part time job I had in college. Hum... college worked. Haha.
I am a mommy -- of two kitties. Miss Maiya (My - uh) and Miss Star. Maiya is a Seal Point Siamese and Star is a Tortoise Shell Calico. Both were adopted at the young age of 3 and 4 months old and have grown to be sisters in every sense of the word. They complete each other. When I lived with roommates I had to make the decision of whether or not I wanted to take Star with me when I moved out or if I wanted the Wii (Star was my roommates cat at the time). Hands down I took Star because I didn't wish loneliness upon my Maiya. Now it is I who needs the help from being alone - as I hate to be in my own house without them both.
I consider myself very family oriented. I live fairly close to my parents and still visit them on a almost daily basis. My family is my symbol of strength, and I turn to them in times of need. I have three siblings - one older and two younger. But I've always been considered the misfit - the one that doesn't fit in. It tore my mom and I apart when I was younger but she has become my best friend in the best and worst of times. We are both stronger for it.
I enjoy spending time outside of the web world. Hiking and exploring are some of my favorite things to do. I've recently learned the joy of the Pagan community and I travel great distances to take part in these gatherings. My furthest travel will be the upcoming Pagan Podkin Supermoot #2 which is hosted or started by Fire Lyte of Inciting a Riot and Velma Nightshade of Witches Brewhaha (and of course their co-podcast Inciting a Brewhaha) and is going to be located in Salem, MA. Other events I've taken part in are some local Harvest Festivals, Midsummer Faerie Festivals, and the not so far PantheaCon 2011 which is hosted in San Jose by the founder of the event - owner of Ancient Ways. I'm looking forward to PantheaCon 2012, and maybe finally getting to go to a Faerieworlds event.
I hope through out reading the blog you will get to know me a little better and I hope you'll join me on my wonderful journey as a(nother) Pagan.
